Tomorrow begins my journey of travel across the 48 states of the United States. I plan to start the journey going to the east coast. The goal is to capture two things during this journey. One, the culture I see across these states, and two, meeting the youth of ages 15yrs through 35yrs, to find out what’s on the mind of the youth in the US. It will be interesting to see the response on reaching out to the youth, and they agreeing to the interview. So far, in both Mexico, and India my experience has been about 90% success on the youth agreeing to give an interview. While in the US, the experience is a bit different.
My travels across the US will be in phases, so in my phase 1, I plan to cover the states along the east-coast, including Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, as I drive along the east cost.
While I have had good success in engaging the youth in both India, and Mexico, in the US, I have experienced that while the youth is ready to interview, getting their time commitment to hold these interviews has been a challenge. I am hoping that I will be able to engage them during the trip.
